A major update to the Data Portal has been introduced, making it easier for study teams to identify targeted interventions for addressing plastic leakage.
Now, when users click on leakage quantities within the Flow or Sankey Diagrams, a popup window will display not only the leakage influencers and descriptions of leakage factors but also a new button next to each influencer.
Clicking this button reveals specific intervention measures directly from the Measures Catalogue, showing the most suitable actions to take for each leakage scenario.
Step 1: Suggested intervention for the current leakage rating (e.g. Medium).
Step 2: Additional measures to further reduce leakage (e.g. moving from Medium to Low).
Step 3: Further steps to achieve minimal leakage.
This enhancement provides clear, structured guidance to help study teams prioritize and implement interventions effectively.
With this update, the WFD tool now also becomes a solution seeking resource, helping users transition from identifying leakage hotspots to taking action in a systematic way.
